Welcome to my Homepage. My name is Tanya Martin and I coordinate the Myron Ashmore Resource Center and am a Computer Education Supervisor for Broward County Schools, Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We are updating the K-12 Computer Education Curriculum to address technology competencies at all levels and to keep up with current trends in technology. Students in Broward County must currently take and pass a course in Computer Education in order to graduate high school. Our elementary school students are becoming increasingly computer literate and a high standards curriculum is being developed for that level as well.
The
Myron Ashmore Professional Resource Center
I coordinate The Myron Ashmore Professional Resource Center, an educator's resource center where software can be previewed and evaluated. The center is dedicated to Dr. Myron L. Ashmore, former Superintendent of Broward County Schools, whose vision was instrumental in developing the NOVA schools based on the premise that Ò..education must prepare the minds of students for work that doesnÕt yet exist and whose nature cannot yet even be imaginedÓ.
The Center:
The center is housed at the
Center
for Applied Research and Professional Development
and is available to all educators in the county.
