About Where I Live

It is very hot in Miami, Florida. The temperature often reaches 98°.

Other Stuff

I am the Mother of 3 children; my son, Joey is 21 years old, Joshua is 19 years old and is from El Salvador and my beautiful daughter is Sage and truly a gift from God. She makes every day special, she has recently begun piano lessons and is now also taking art classes. She is outgoing, loving and a joy to be with. She really keeps me forcused.

I like being surrounded by living things--I have plants in my home and in my classroom. I have had tropical fish since I was a small chlld and always have a tank or 2 at home and in my classroom. I like box turtles--it started when I tollk my sons fishing and would save them from being road kills on the the trail. The originals have been "stolen" from my yard but I have 9 of their offspring from 3 consecutive years.

I am a lover of antiques and have quite a few-though never enough--I am now looking for an antique Singer Sewing Machine with an ornately carved oak cabinet that is in good condition. I have quite a nice collection of fountain pens. I began this collection long before it became popular and started with dip pens left by my great-grnadfather. Now it has become one of the "in" things to collect and the costs are becoming prohibitive.

I love to read when I get a chance. I'm a pretty good cook but don't do nearly as much as I used to do. I must say I make the very best apple pie you'll find.

It seems I have been taking classes all my life-but this time I really mean it. I'm finished! I just completed the last class I need for my Specialist pay. Hurray! Now, maybe I'll be able to do all the reading I've been wanting to do.

I hate to clean--need to do a little of that. I'm a pack rat, can't throw anything away. Is that a teacher thing maybe?

I love adoption--2 of my children are adopted. I wish I could have had 5 but after 2 boys I had to wait a long time for Sage--she was defintely worth the wait.
