About Me

Welcome to my Homepage.
My name is Leslie Hussey. I am a teacher at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind. I teach reading and writing in the seventh and eighth grades. F.S.D.B. is a great place to work at, and the campus is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. I especially love the old buildings and the palm trees that grow everywhere on campus.

About My Classroom

I have a lot of ideas and plans for my students and there does not seem to be enough time to do everything! However, I do try... I am interested in several topics. If any of you have some information on the following topics, I would appreciate it if you could get in touch with me. Here are the topics that I am interested in:

Literature (expository and narrative) on the Middle Ages appropriate for use with 7th and 8th graders.

Strategies for reading comprehension.

Vocabulary strategies and activities.

ESL reading and writing strategies/activities.

Use of portfolios for the evaluation of writing.
