Get Free Technology for Your School
If your school is Third World when it comes to technology and you feel deprived, don't despair. There are a wealth of ways that your school can get free software and hardware, so if you hunger for hardware and "free" is the sweetest word you've ever heard--read on!
My name is Linda Carrey. I'm a second grade teacher in Broward County. Here's how to get free stuff!
These long-distance phone companies offer free technology to schools: AT&T and Sprint.
AT&T--To register your school, call 1 800, 354-8800 or visit: http://www.att.com/learningnetwork/
Sprint--To register your school, call A+ America, 1 800, 706-5500. This organization also sponsors the A+ America Program. Schools can earn technology points by (1) the collection of sales receipts (Eckerd Drug Stores, Pep Boys) and (2) the sale of gift certificates (Winn-Dixie, Macy's, Blockbuster, Toys R' Us, Wendy's, etc.). To find out more, visit A+ at: http://www.aplusamerica.org/
To earn cash, ask everyone at your school to save the box tops from General Mills cereals and selected Betty Crocker packages. You'll earn 15 cents for cereal box tops and 10 cents for snack box tops. Enroll your school by calling: 1 800, 799-2444 or visiting online: http://www.boxtops4education.com/
Another way to earn money is to enroll your school in Target's "Take Charge of Education Program." After your school is enrolled, ask parents to call, give their Target Guest Card number and your school's name, address, and phone number. After that, one percent of their Target Guest Card purchases will be donated to your school whenever they shop and use their Target card. To enroll, call 1 800, 316-6142.include("/var/www/html/google-stats.php"); ?>
