My name is James (Jim) R. Broughton and
I am a teacher at B. T. Washington High School. Washington High School
is located in Pensacola, Florida and has a student population of about
1800 students. I have taught for fourteen years in the applied technology
department and I teach grades 9-12. I'm a member of the Florida League
of Teachers and I'm very involved in educational change in the state of
Florida. I enjoy working with technology, learning new ideas, and implementing
new methods of classroom instruction.
I teach the following courses: Practical Keyboarding Skills, Practical Computer Skills, and Business Computer Applications 1. I am very interested in hearing from other teachers who are teaching these courses and how they are incorporating emerging technologies into their classrooms.
About Where I Live
I live in Gulf Breeze which is a small community in northwest Florida. The weather is great and the water is fantastic. Pensacola and Pensacola Beach are neighboring communities. Pensacola Beach is less than one mile from my home. The white sandy beaches and blue/green water of the Gulf of Mexico are fantastic. We have some of the best beaches in the world.
