In the old days, during the time of harvest, since one lonely farmer could not harvest his farm by himself, the former slaves of Haiti found a rather ingenious way to get around this problem ! Why not throw a party, feed and provide music for the participants , and get them to help you as well ! Thus
Konbit was born ! A gathering to harvest, party, and work together ! Sometimes, the party could last the whole spring as the group moves from one farm to the other !

Pierre, Rulx Jean-Bart, and Mr. Jean decided to organize a Konbit which would not only raise much needed Scholarship money for needy students ( The Toussaint Louverture Scholarship), but get kids from the k-12 levels involved and renew their knowledge of their culture, the Haitian Culture.
