My name is Diane Haggerty
and I teach at the Nova Center for Applied Reasearch and Development in
Davie, Florida. I am part of the Math Cadre Pyramid Project for Broward
County Schools.
I teach first grade in the Laurel Treehouse. The Laurel Treehouse is a model of continuous progress grades K-5. The students start together in kindergarten and stay together as a class until the fifth grade.During our treehouse meetings the students demonstrate mastery of a particular subject or theme. We also enjoy activities where students in grades K-5 work in cooperative groups.
I live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. We enjoy the season of summer all year long.
