List of distances of planets from Sun yarn yardstick scissors

What to do

1. Convert distances from Planets from sun to inches and scale down to reasonable measurements (teacher activity prior to lesson) 2. Cut yarn to represent lengths of distance. 3. Have one child stand in one spot and represent the Sun. 4. Give other children pieces of yarn (for each of the planets) and walk out from center child (sun) the length of the yarn to see how far they have to go to use the full distance.

Additional Information

Shows (on a scaled version) how far each of the planets are from the sun.
