Materials

Manatee pictures(teacher made), rulers,drawing paper,and graph paper

What to do

Students will be placed in small groups.Students will use teacher provided manatee pictures to estimate scare lengths. Students will draw and label manatees on their construction paper from pictures provided.Students will estimate the length of scars on manatees. Students will use rulers to measure length of scars.

Additional Information

Students will become familiar with manatee facts. Students will discuss protection of manatees and causes of scars.
