Materials

Bell jar, vacuum or reverse hand pump,rubber balloon, marker.

What to do

1.Inflate balloon. 2.Draw face on balloon(for dramatic effect)with marker. 3.Start removing air from bell jar with vacuum or hand pump. 4.Observe the affect on the balloon face as the air pressure outside the balloon decreases and the pressure inside increases.

Additional Information

Shows students air pressure differentials and why you would not want to get caught outside the space shuttle with out your space suit.
