Materials

Graph paper, stamp markers (small stamp shapes on the end of a marker) by Crayola, pencils

What to do

Students will copy a problem from the board then stamp a sample to match problem. Example: 3 groups of 5 (3 x 5) @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ @ I also require the students to circle the three groups and students are to check groups and make sure there are five @ in each group. Then the students are to count the total number of @s they have altogether. If everything was lined up there should be fifteen @s on the page for that problem.I consistantly ask the students to remember the first number should go across the page and the second number should go down the paper.3 groups of five would be 3 across the paper and 5 down in each column.
