What to do
1. Students pick their favorite products and write to the company for info and request the call letters. 2. Background skills: graphing, parts of a dollar, using a calculator, how to read a stock market page,multiplication with decimals and percent, writing a check and balancing a checkbook. 3. The game begins with each student receiving a checkbook, register and a deposit slip. The student will fill out the deposit slip for $200.00. 4. After the student receives the information from the company, the student begins to watch the share price of the stock. The student should decide at this point, if that is the stock s/he wants to buy. 5. Assign 3 students special jobs. Allocate a special time during the day for the investor, stock broker and banker to do their jobs. 6. The students buy and sell stocks according to their judgement. Discourage daily buying and selling and emphasize holding a particulasr stock. 7. Students need to track the increases and decreases on graph paper Tuseday through Friday. 8. The student with the most money left in his/her checking account at the end of the allocated time frame WINS!
