Materials

centimeter tape measures - one/pair of students
3 different toy frogs that hop
a starting line
recording sheet

What to do

Have the pairs measure and record the leg length of each frog.

Have them then line the frogs up at the starting line.

Each frog should then be allowed to jump.

Their distance jumped should then be recorded.

This should be done a minimum of 20 times for each frog.

Results are then graphed and discussed.

Average jump distances for each frog will be found.

Whole class sharing will be done to determine the best toy frog jumper.

Additional Information

Make sure that each type of frog is different.
Check a toy store or dollar store for them.
