MA.B.1.1.1
Materials
chart paper
markers
white drawing paper (9" x 12") for each student
What to do
Begin by listing hourly times on the chart paper (6:00 a.m., 7:00a.m., etc) until you have a 24 hour time period listed. Then, have students list choose a day of the school week, and list what you are doing by each time.(For example by 10:00 - Reading.) Do this for each hour. (You will have several hours for sleeping.)
Then, give each student a piece of drawing paper with the digital time and an analog clock stamp (without the hands) at the top of the paper. Each student is assigned a time (9:00 a.m., 5:00 p.m., etc.) They are to draw a picture of what they are doing at that time. Use the class chart as reference. Students also write a sentence to go with the picture. Then, they put the hands on the analog clock.
Take all the pages and make a class book. (If you have more than 24 students, you can have students work in pairs or do a page twice.)
Additional Information
You can also instruct the students that their picture must show whether it is daytime or nighttime.
