Lake Myrtle is in Land O'Lakes, Florida. Our student population is approximately 950 students, Pre-K through 5th grade. Our mascot is the "turtle". We are a Continuous Progress school, utilizing multi-age organizational structure. Teams of students and teachers stay together from Kindergarten, all the way through 5th grade. Lake Myrtle also supports the Inclusion model, where most our ESE students are mainstreamed into regular education classes, supported by co-teaching by the ESE and regular education teachers.
Land O'Lakes is located up the road a piece from Tampa and the Tampa Bay area. Land O'Lakes is not famous for "butter", but rather for having numerous lakes. It is quite hot and humid here about six months out of the year. It snowed here once in 1976! We are home to Busch Gardens, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Tampa Bay Mutiny, Tampa Bay Storm, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and Tampa Bay Firestix.
